Description
Bermudez Engel Law, P.A. is a fully virtual family law firm serving clients across Hillsborough County and the greater Tampa Bay area. The firm handles a steady volume of litigation-driven family law matters, including dissolution of marriage, paternity, modifications, enforcement, and relocations, and maintains an active caseload across multiple stages of litigation.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position.
The practice is built on a balance of strong advocacy and practical, day-to-day case management. The firm operates remotely, with no physical office requirement, and is structured to support attorneys in managing their work independently while maintaining a consistent flow of cases. While the work is litigation-focused, the firm values a sustainable and flexible environment where attorneys can do high-quality work without unnecessary burnout.
This is a fully remote position, with required availability for hearings (via Zoom and in-person as needed) in Hillsborough and surrounding counties. Applicants must be local to the Tampa Bay area or willing to travel for in-person court appearances as required.
The attorney will assist with an active caseload and will be responsible for drafting pleadings, communicating with clients and opposing counsel, preparing for and attending hearings and mediations, and managing assigned cases with guidance as needed. Support from a paralegal and administrative assistant is provided.
Requirements
- Member in good standing with the Florida Bar
- 2–5 years of litigation experience required
- Strong writing and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines
- Excellent courtroom demeanor
- Strong litigation and negotiation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with support staff
- Professionalism and attention to detail
Family law experience is preferred but not required.
